A wildfire broke out in the town of Collinsville around 2pm on July 4th, which destroyed 8 homes, damaged 3 more homes, burned boats and vehicles. The fire displaced 25 residents and caused an estimated 2.5 million dollars in damage. The cause of the fire was unknown, though the dry and windy conditions (20-25mph gusts) along with 4th of July celebrations may have been a factor.
