Runoff from heavy rainfall resulted in flash flooding in and around Placerville. The US Post Office incurred some of the flood waters.

A stagnant monsoonal pattern allowed afternoon thunderstorms to remain efficient rainfall producers. Many areas across western Colorado reported heavy rainfall, with flash flooding having occurred in and around Placerville.
