The wider storm

A supercell thunderstorm associated with the larger severe weather outbreak of May 10th developed in the evening and moved across Delaware county. A severe macroburst developed just south and east of Manchester, Iowa and produced winds of hurricane force. Three farms were damaged along with numerous trees at the golf course. On U.S. 20 just east of town, power poles were snapped with wires dangling low enough to interfere with vehicle traffic.
