Based on a mariner's report of southwest wind gusts to 40 KT within a few miles of the coast, a Special Marine Warning was issued for the above listed zones effective at the above times. These winds were not convective in nature. Unfortunately, the report was not logged and none of the available buoy date supports the warning. So it is likely that this was issued in error, and clarification of the criteria for issuance is now being sought.
