A thunderstorm produced a marine wind gust of 42 mph at buoy 44030 10 miles east of Cape Neddick.

Wider weather episode

Severe thunderstorms pushed offshore during the early evening hours of July 15th. A marine buoy 10 miles east of Cape Neddick recorded a gust to 42 mph and further up the coast, the Portland weather buoy also recorded a gust to 42 mph.
