Strong onshore winds continued during the second day of the three-day Labor Day Weekend. Two local residents swimming in the ocean late at night were caught in a rip current. One of the women drowned. On Saturday and Sunday, August 30 and 31, more than 100 persons were rescued from rip currents along the beaches of southeast Florida.
