Penny sized hail was reported on the southeast side of town.

Scattered thunderstorms with large hail and high winds moved across Augusta, Nelson, and Albemarle counties between 6:30 and 8:30 AM on the 10th. In Augusta County, penny sized hail was reported near the Fishersville exit off Interstate 64. Pea sized hail fell in Staunton. In Nelson County, trees were downed in Lovingston. In Albemarle County, high winds downed trees in Covesville. Penny sized hail was reported on the southeast side of Charlottesville. Scattered tree damage was also reported in Charlottesville along Route 20.
