Event narrative

The thunderstorm moved from Grape Creek into the city of San Angelo. The thunderstorm produced golf ball size hail and winds to 70 mph over the north and east portions of San Angelo. This caused damage to cars, roofs and businesses.

Wider weather episode

Severe thunderstorms erupted over much of west central Texas on the first day on June. However the most significant storm of the day was a supercell that formed in southern Coke county then moved southeast towards Grape Creek and San Angelo. This storm caused significant hail and wind damage as it moved through Tom Green County. The storm continued southeast while producing hail and wind damage across Concho and McCulloch counties.
