Law enforcement reported flash flooding at the intersection of Coke Street and Schroeder Street which resulted in one fatality when a vehicle was swept away by the flood waters.
Roads became covered with a glaze of ice. On February 11, an 84 year old male lost control of his vehicle on the icy highway and rolled his truck and trailer into a borrow ditch on U.S. Highway 87 near Carlsbad at around 11 AM. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A motorist was killed when his vehicle hit a patch of ice and rolled multiple times in the 1300 block of N. Loop 306 Ramp, just north of Pulliam Street. The patchy ice resulted in multiple crashes especially on Loop 306 in San Angelo.
San Angelo police confirmed one fatality in a vehicle crash on Knickerbocker Road near Bentwood Country Club. The driver lost control in the very heavy rain as his truck hydroplaned and collided with a tree.
A Sterling City ambulance lost control on some ice along U.S. Highway 87 near Water Valley or about 10 miles north of San Angelo. The vehicle flipped and caught on fire and resulted in three fatalities and one injury.
