A powerful pacific storm with a very strong jet stream moved over north central Idaho during the late night and early morning hours, producing strong damaging winds. Wind gusts to 58 mph blew over a camp trailer with people inside near Riggins, ID with no injuries reported. In Lemhi County, wind gusts between 60 to 80 mph blew over trees, power lines and started fires. Trees were blown down on South St. Charles Street and U.S. Highway 93 was covered with rocks and tree branches between Salmon and North Fork. A deck was blown off a trailer and damaged a truck, and a dog was killed by a fallen tree on Cherokee Lane. A power pole fell and caught fire on U.S. Highway 93, 2.2 miles south of Salmon, with minor roof damage also reported in the area.
