Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point (KNKT) reported a 54 knot wind gust.

A cold front approached from the northwest during the afternoon and evening hours of June 5th, 2014. Numerous thunderstorms developed over the eastern North Carolina coastal waters. Several of the storms became severe producing damaging winds and hail.
