Event narrative

Public reported a waterspout south of Collington Harbor headed towards the northern portions of the Roanoke Sound.

Wider weather episode

Scattered thunderstorms developed along a stationary front across parts of eastern North Carolina during the evening of June 20th. One waterspout was observed earlier in the day near Collington Harbor and the northern portions of Roanoke Sound. One small cluster of storms became severe producing hail and strong winds as it crossed parts of the southern Pamlico Sound and Crystal Coast area.
