Diamond Shoals buoy 41025 observed a 41 knot marine thunderstorm wind gust.

Wider weather episode

Numerous showers and thunderstorms developed across Eastern North Carolina on July 15th as a cold front approached from the west. A few of the storms became severe producing strong marine winds.
