Public weather station reported a 38 knot marine thunderstorm wind gust.

The combination of a cold front approaching from the west and the inland-migrating sea-breeze led to numerous showers and a few thunderstorms during the afternoon of July 24th across eastern North Carolina. Several marine thunderstorm wind gusts were observed across the coastal waters.
