An area of low pressure developed over the Gulf Coast region and tracked northeast into the Mid Atlantic region. The storm produced a mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain. Snowfall totals across Northeast Virginia averaged 3 to 4 inches. Some light ice accumulations were also reported. One death was reported in Arlington on Route 50 . A woman was killed when she lost control of her car on icy roads.
