A law enforcement officer estimated that between 1 and 2 inches of rain fell and caused a nearby creek to swell to 3 feet in width and a couple feet in depth.
Wider weather episode
A supercell thunderstorm developed across the Camas Prairie and peaked in intensity over western Clearwater County between Greer and Weippe. The storm unleashed severe winds and half-dollar hail causing close to a million dollars in property and crop damage. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) designated Clearwater County as a primary natural disaster area due to this wind and hail event on Sep. 3.
