Trees 50 to 60 feet tall were toppled in the town of Jackson by outflow from a collapsing thunderstorm. At least one vehicle was damaged.
Wider weather episode
A thunderstorm that first erupted over extreme southeast Idaho produced hail of penny to ping pong ball size as it traveled across western Wyoming. The storm tracked northeast for 240 miles from Star Valley to Washakie County. The largest hail fell in Smoot just before sunset. Near Jackson, separate collapsing showers and storms produced strong outflow wind that toppled several trees in town.
