Moderate snowfall amounts in the Blue Mountains and Grande Ronde Valley led to several semi trucks losing traction on interstate 84. This prompted the Oregon Department of Transportation to close Interstate 84 for a couple hours, which began at milepost 216 near the bottom of Cabbage Hill. Snowfall amounts for the duration of this event included 8 inches at Meacham Lake, 7 inches at Emigrant Springs, 3 inches in La Grande, and 2 inches in Union
