Event narrative
Showers and thunderstorms built eastward along the cold front into Bandera County in the evening. General rains of near 1 inch fell over the west part of the county, with isolated totals of up to 3 inches. At times, rainfall rates approached 2 inches per hour. One man drowned near 1230 CST after being trapped in a vehicle between Vanderpool and Utopia where the Sabinal River crosses FM 187. The man's wife was rescued and taken to the hospital.
