A strong storm system allowed deep and moist upslope flow to impact south-central and southeast Colorado...causing areas of heavy snow. The heaviest snow fell in the Sangre de Cristo and Wet mountains and in the higher elevations of the Rampart Range west of Colorado Springs. Anywhere from 10 to 20 inches fell in the above areas. Isolated amounts near one foot (11 inches at La Veta) fell in western Huerfano county. Cuchara...in southwest Huerfano county tallied 21 inches of new snow.
