An oil rig worker on a platform in Eugene Island Block 208 reported a wind gust around 45 MPH with a thunderstorm. Seas were also reported to be between 10 and 12 feet during the storm.
Wider weather episode
An upper level disturbance along with deep tropical moisture allowed scattered to numerous thunderstorms across the coastal waters for two days. Many high wind gusts over the coastal waters were recorded during this time.
