A wind gust of 44 MPH was recorded on a platform in Eugene Island Block 158 during a thunderstorm.
The wider storm
An upper level disturbance along with deep tropical moisture allowed scattered to numerous thunderstorms across the coastal waters for two days. Many high wind gusts over the coastal waters were recorded during this time.
Began near Marsh Island (28.8400, -91.7300).
