Trees down in the City of Fairfax.

Wider weather episode

A strong cold front moved through the region on May 2nd. Numerous thunderstorms developed ahead of the front and caused widespread wind damage over Northern Virginia and the Central Foothills. There were several reports of downed trees and power lines. One of the thunderstorms produced a tornado in Madison County, near Wolftown. The tornado touched down 2 miles southwest of Wolftown and lifted northwest of Madison. The resulting damage included several trees were uprooted, a demolished outbuilding, and a second severely damaged outbuilding.
