Event narrative

Widespread dense blowing dust spread across a large area of Pinal County between Apache Junction and Casa Grande. Several vehicles involved in accidents along route 347 just south of I-10. Wind speeds were generally 40 to 50 mph and at times the visibility was less than 50 feet. One automatic weather station just northwest of Florence recorded a peak wind of 53 mph.
