WSR-88D recorded precipitation rates of 3-5 inches/hour over the warning area. This value was likely polluted by hail, but it was thought that the precipitation rates were still signficant. The storm was slow moving and remained over the Beaver Creek basin for a long time.

A Flash Flood Warning was issued for the Beaver Creek basin in north central Siskiyou county at 1916 PDT on 7/24/04 and expired at 2155 PST on 07/24/04. The warning was based on radar estimated precipitation rates of 3-5 inches/hour from a slow moving thunderstorm that remained over a single drainage basin. Although the estimate was likely polluted by hail, the threat of flash flooding was still considered to be significant enough to warrant a warning. No verifying ground-based observations were received, so this warning was not verified.
