In King Cove, winds and gusts built up over a period of 12 hours prior to a peak gust of 64 knots recorded on 10-12 2351z. Strong gusts continued for another 12 hours at sub-warning level until another peak gust of 64 knots was reported again on 10-13 1434z. Winds gradually diminished over the next 19 hours.

Wider weather episode

A strong low pressure system in the Gulf of Alaska created high winds through channeled terrain on the Alaska Peninsula.
