A cold front moved through the area on the 14th and triggered numerous showers and thunderstorms over Northern Virginia. The stronger storms were concentrated from just east of the Blue Ridge to the Northern Piedmont. These storms produced penny to golf ball size hail, damaging winds, and very heavy rainfall.
