Sustained winds of around in the 40 to 50 knot range occurred for several hours (time range noted in the entry) at the Michigan City C-Man station. The highest wind gust was 58 knots (67 mph) which occurred at 1120 am EST. A lifeguard house on the beach was blown off its supports and thrown several feet from its normal location.
