Heavy rain bands with embedded thunderstorms over Eastern Long Island Sound produced wind gusts up to 43 knots. This resulted in a 31 foot boat capsizing near Niantic Bay. Two men were thrown into the water. One of them was killed. The boat sustanied significant structual damage.
