The wider storm

Snow associated with a stationary shear line closed the access roads to the summits of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa on the Big Island of Hawaii for about 18 hours. The snow fell at elevations above 11 thousand feet. There were no reports of serious property damage or injuries.
