A deep low pressure system moved along the southeast coast during the overnight hours on the 27th into the 28th. As heavy rainfall exited the area, strong pressure rises brought winds aloft to the surface. Numerous trees and power lines were knocked down across Southeast Georgia, some which were blocking highways.
