Event narrative

Many trees were downed in central Chippewa County, mainly 10 miles either side of I-75. Power outages were widespread. Two heavy rabbit hutches were blown over.

Wider weather episode

Multiple waves of thunderstorms impacted northern Michigan on September 4. Two of them produced substantial wake lows, resulting in strong to damaging winds many miles away from the parent storms. The first produced wind damage in eastern upper Michigan.
