Damage occurred to County Road 500 that was washed out between mile markers 20 and 30 due to a flash flood. The flooding was isolated and included a significant debris flow.

Wider weather episode

Flash flooding occurred in southwest Archuleta County during the afternoon of July 16th. A nearby stationary front resulted in a series of thunderstorms that moved across the same general location in the northwest flow aloft.
