Highway 318 was closed for several hours due to a large amount of debris that was deposited on the roadway from flash flood waters.

Wider weather episode

A very active monsoon thunderstorm outbreak caused several flash floods and debris flows across western Colorado where there were numerous reports of rainfall rates in excess of one inch per hour.
