Event narrative
Numerous mud slides up to a foot deep were reported north of Redstone due to heavy rainfall and runoff. Southbound lanes of Highway 133 were blocked for several hours as road crews removed the debris.
Wider weather episode
Monsoonal moisture from the southwest resulted in thunderstorms across portions of western Colorado with heavy rainfall that caused some flash flooding and mud slides.
