A fire blackened 50 acres of brush in Panakauahi Gulch near Waipio on Oahu. The blaze was close to both the H-2 Freeway and Kamehameha Highway, which adversely affected traffic for several hours. However, no serious property damage or injuries were reported. The origin of the fire was unknown.
