Tropical Storm Tammy moved ashore in northeast Florida but the strongest effects were felt well north of the actual center. Tropical Storm force wind gusts as high as 50 mph affected the Georgia coast for many hours. Numerous trees were blown down, a few of which fell on houses and cars. Coastal flooding and high surf also occurred due to Tammy. Significant beach erosion occurred at Tybee Island.
