A woman was killed in a one car accident that occurred near Pilot Mound during the evening of December 20th. Icy conditions developed from moisture deposited on the roads from fog with temperatures below freezing. The vehicle the woman was riding in went off the road because of the icy conditions and rolled into a ditch.

A woman was killed in a December 20th traffic accident near Pilot Mound (Fillmore County) that occurred on icy roads. The icy roads developed from moisture that was deposited on the roads from fog with temperatures below freezing. According to police reports, the vehicle the woman was riding in went off the road because of the icy conditions and rolled into a ditch. The automated weather observing equipment at the Preston airport was reporting 3 miles visibility in fog with a temperature of 28 degrees at the time of the accident.
