Event narrative

High winds in the eastern slopes of the southern Sierra and the Owens Valley. A spotter reported zero visibility in blowing sand and rocks, Caltrans reported wind dislodging rocks the size of basketballs along Highway 168, the Owens Valley RAWS reported a gust to 90 mph, and shingles, siding, and one roof were stripped away in Mustang Mesa, as well as one horse corral being destroyed.
