An arctic cold front from western Quebec to eastern Lake Huron the morning of December 11th moved southeast across northern New York during the afternoon and evening of December 11th. Cold air moving across the warmer waters of the Great Lakes resulted in lake effect snow across portions of northern New York. The most pronounced accumulations were across southwest St Lawrence county of New York. Generally between 2 and 5 inches of snow fell in this area. The greatest amount reported was 5 inches in Ogdensburg, NY.
