The first wintry precipitation occurred late in the season across eastern North Carolina during the morning hours on the 20th. Most of the area received a light mixture of wintry precipitation including sleet, snow, and freezing rain. One to two inch snowfall amounts across Outer Banks Dare and Hyde counties resulted in Icy bridges and roads which caused some traffic problems.
