After a number of days of temperatures above freezing, a light snowfall and falling temperatures occurred on the 24th in the Fairbanks area, making roads and highways slippery. A traffic accident occurred north of Fairbanks on the Steese Highway at the intersection with Hagelbarger Avenue when two vehicles collided head-on. A 51 year-old male was killed (indirect) and another person was injured (indirect).
