Event narrative

An icy roadway from freezing drizzle led to a fatal car accident around 5:45 am in the Town of Leeds. The man was killed when his car slid into an oncoming pickup truck.

The passing of a weak area of low pressure resulted in areas of freezing drizzle and light snow over portions of south central and southeast WI. There were some slide-offs and accidents, including an indirect fatality in Columbia County.
