The wider storm

A sudden, brief snow shower coated Highway 101 just north of the Golden Gate Bridge with ice and slushy snow. A chain reaction accident occurred, involving 28 vehicles creating a monstrous pileup - killing 2 people and injuring more than a dozen. The pileup scattered wreckage 350 to 400 feet along the road.
