After a very brief respite, another blast of lake effect snow arrived, beginning late on the 17th. These impacted many of the same areas of the event of one to two days prior. Another 10 to 15 inches of snow fell on Gaylord and the surrounding areas. As opposed to the prior event, eastern upper Michigan also got into the act, with heavy snow in central and western Chippewa County.
