What EF0 means. On the Enhanced Fujita scale, EF0 is light damage: shingles and siding peeled, gutters torn, branches broken, consistent with estimated gusts of 65–85 mph. The rating comes from a survey of the worst damage after the storm, not from a wind measurement, so it says as much about what the tornado hit as about how strong it was.

What the National Weather Service wrote

A NWS storm survey team found that the EF-1 tornado that touched down in Lamar County crossed into southwest Butts County along Bucksnort Road near Interstate Highway 75. The tornado moved northeast across Butts County for just over 16.5 miles before crossing the South River on the upper reaches of Lake Jackson into Newton County. Maximum wind speeds were around 95 MPH with mainly damage to trees. Numerous hardwood and softwood trees were snapped or uprooted. Small outbuildings near the intersection of Cooper Road and State Highway 36 suffered the loss of roof panels. [11/23/14: Tornado #8, County #2-3, EF1, Lamar-Butts-Newton, 2014:025].
