A strong thunderstorm that developed just east of The Islands earlier in the evening continued east along the southern half of Lake Erie during the evening hours. A 37 knot wind gust was measured at the Fairport Harbor Lighthouse as the thunderstorm passed by. The thunderstorm eventually moved onshore in northern Ashtabula County.
