Thunderstorms developed in advance of an approaching cold front. Some of these became severe producing damaging winds that felled trees in several locations. One tree fell on a church in Dillwyn, Buckingham County, causing minor damage. Other damaging winds blew a roof off a business along Route 460 in northeast Montgomery Co VA near Elliston. This same roof grazed the vehicle of a passing motorist.
