Strong north to northeast winds developed across the Santa Monica Mountains. The RAWS sensor at Malibu Hills reported wind gusts between 58 and 76 MPH.
The wider storm
Strong surface high pressure over the Great Basin generated strong and gusty north to northeast winds across the mountains of Ventura and Los Angeles counties. Wind gusts up to 79 MPH were reported.
