Very strong winds occurred over southeast Wyoming and the western Nebraska panhandle. Sustained winds were between 40 and 50 MPH,with some gusts over 70 MPH. The strongest wind gust was 87 MPH at a location ten miles south of Wheatland around 200 PM MST. At730 PM MST, strong winds blew over some power poles near Gering,reulting in a power outage of one and one-half hours in the area.
